Piñatas for a kids party
A piñata is a great addition to any party and always a
'hit' with the kids. And because they're so widely available both
from local stores and the Internet in so many different colors shapes
and sizes - including donkeys, Dora the Explorer, Hello Kitty, flowers,
fish, SpongeBob, pirates, parrots and treasure chests, dinosaurs,
numbers, trucks and cars - it's easy to tie a piñata to a
kids party theme.
Piñatas are typically made of cardboard and paper, or Papier-mâché
sometimes called paper-maché, and designed to be either broken
open with a busting stick or opened with a pull-string - a pull-string
piñata usually has several strings attached but only one
string opens the piñata to release the 'treasure' - this
type of piñata is a good option for a kids party, as watching
a dizzy, blindfolded child wielding a stick can be a little worrying.
